LIMITED EDITION SWEATERS
These sweaters were designed in tribute to some legendary ladies who have made significant contributions in their chosen artistic fields. They come in 2 styles: as a sweater with the 4 portrait panels on the front, or as a jacket (with cardigan or kimono sleeves), with the 4 panels on the back.
Laurie Anderson (born 5 June 1947)
American experimental performance artist, composer and musician. She is a pioneer in electric music, having invented several devices including the tape bow violin, the talking stick, and a voice filter that deepens her voice to a masculine range – she calls the effect ‘audio drag’.
In 1980 she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the San Francisco Art Institute; in 1982 she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for Creative Arts.
In 2003 she became the first ever artist in residence at NASA, and in 2007 she was awarded the Gish Prize for her ‘outstanding contribution to the beauty of the world, and to mankind’s enjoyment and understanding of life’.
She was married to Lou Reed, with whom she curated the brilliant 2010 Vivid Live in Sydney.
